Peterhead Kitchen Renovation
Pronorm Light Grey - Duropal marble effect - Neff appliances
A CONSIDERED RENOVATION
It didn't need a new layout.
It needed everything else.
This Peterhead kitchen didn't need a new layout. It needed everything else; better storage, a finish that would last, and appliances that actually worked for how the family cooks. This result is a Pronorm Kitchen in Light Grey, fitted with a marble effect. Duropal worktop and matching splashback, and Neff appliances throughout.
The old kitchen was tired. Wood fronted units, a gas hob, and drawers that were never quite deep enough for what needed to go in them. The layout worked well for the space and how the family used it, so there was no need to move a single wall. What mattered was upgrading everything inside it.
The brief
Same wall, same layout. Pronorm Light Grey units and a Duropal marble effect worktop and splashback replace the old wood fronts and gas hob.
DESIGNED AROUND THE WAY IT IS USED
The design
Keeping the layout meant the design work went into detail rather than demolition. Every corner unit now has a proper pull out, the drawers under the hob run deeper than before, and the dishwasher is fully integrated into the run of unit rather than sitting as an obvious appliance.
The ovens and combi microwave are stacked into one tall Neff tower, keeping the cooking wall uncluttered.
A Neff oven and combo microwave, stacked in one tall unit with handleless Light Grey doors alongside.
The worktop and splashback are the same Duropal decor throughout, in a soft grey marble pattern. Running the splashback as large panels rather than tiles keeps the number of joins to a minimum, which matters as much for cleaning as it does for look.
The finish
One finish, carried through.
The same Duropal marble effect decor runs across the worktop and splashback, giving the kitchen a quieter, more cohesive finish and reducing unnecessary joins.
The footprint stayed exactly where it was. The experience of using the kitchen did not.
THE TRANSFORMATION
The sink wall before and after - same window, same position, a completely different feel.
